It didn’t take Clarence Lewis very long to fall in love with a college football program.
Only a few days after visiting the University of Notre Dame’s campus, Lewis announced late Monday night a verbal commitment to join the Fighting Irish after his senior season concludes in 2020.
Listed at 6’1″ and 185 pounds, the Mater Dei Prep product has blossomed into one of the premier lockdown cornerbacks in New Jersey over the past few seasons. While reliable stats are scarce, there’s little to no doubt that Lewis is a difference-maker. He has next level speed and certainly has proven over the last season to have a natural knack for the ball.

The commitment instantly pushes him to the top of the premiere recruits in New Jersey’s Class of 2020. Lewis will join fellow rising senior and tight end prospect Kevin Bauman (Red Bank Catholic) as Shore Conference players committed to the Fighting Irish.
Lewis selected Notre Dame after yielding 15 offers from a variety of Power Five schools, including Nebraska, Rutgers, Vanderbilt and Purdue, among others.
