Manasquan and Saint Rose closed out the regular season in style. Dara Mabrey hit a three-pointer as time expired in regulation and Faith Masonius delivered the go-ahead bucket in a 60-57 Warriors win over the Purple Roses. Manasquan 60 Saint Rose 57
Dara Mabrey beat the buzzer with a three-pointer to force overtime and poured in 29 points to lead Manasquan to a 60-57 overtime win over Saint Rose. The Warriors had a 12-point halftime lead, but the Purple Roses stormed back in the second half. Lucy Thomas scored her 1000th point and had 14 points and 14 rebounds for Saint Rose. Ellyn Stoll led Saint Rose with 15 including a three-pointer that put the Roses in front 49-48 in the 4th quarter. Mikayla Markham’s jump shot put Saint Rose in front 54-52 with 28 seconds to go. Jen Louro made a free throw with six seconds left to give Saint Rose a 55-52 lead. Louro’s second free throw was off the mark. Lola Mullaney hauled in the rebound and got the ball to Stella Clark who found Mabrey through a double team. Mabrey’s three-pointer swished in and forced overtime. In OT, Victoria Galvan chased down a loose ball and found Faith Masonius for a layup to put the Warriors in front 58-57.
