The Rumson Fair-Haven boys and girls lacrosse teams scored a pair of victories in state lacrosse tournament play.
2014 NJSIAA Boys South Group 1 Semifinals
Rumson-Fair Haven 11 New Providence 7 – Chris Hubler had three goals and two assists and Dominic Padula tallied three goals as RFH held off New Providence 11-7 at Borden Stadium on Thursday. Rumson-Fair Haven rolled out to a 5-0 lead before New Providence outscored the Bulldogs 5-1 in the second quarter to trail 6-5 at the half. RFH took control of the third with four straight goals. Robbie Garavante and Chris Sutphen had two goals each for Rumson, who will take on 10th seeded Johnson on Saturday with a trip to the state finals on the line.
