Elizabeth and Summit has become one of Union County’s top rivalries in recent memory and the latest edition did not disappoint.
In the 67th minute of a 2-2 match, Summit’s John Murray was given a yellow card for taking down Elizabeth’s Cleff Alexis inside the box. Alexis – a junior forward – buried the ensuing penalty kick which ultimately gave the Minutemen a 3-2 win.
Mathew Giraldo and Jordy Zuniga scored the other two goals for Elizabeth while Daniel Farberov accounted for both of Summit’s scores.
