Two Spartans delivered key moments early in their high school careers. In the bottom of the first inning, John Kopera leaped to rob a home run, a play that proved crucial in the Spartans’ one-run victory. On the mound, freshman Ayden Peach pitched a gem, tossing 5.1 innings, striking out four, and earning his first varsity win. Steinert (9-6) has now won four of its last five games, highlighted by a big non-conference victory over Wall (8-5).
