Getting one out is hard enough, but for Steinert’s Kaylee Whitaker it seemed like more of a common feeling as she retired 27 batters in a row. This week’s South Jersey Game Ball winner is no stranger to pressure; she helped lead the Spartans to a Tournament of Champions crown in 2018 and has been a driving force on the mound to their likely return to postseason play. In Steinert’s game against Ewing, Whitaker collected 12 strikeouts and allowed no hits or walks. The fans have spoken and the NJM Insurance South Jersey Game Ball will be heading to Hamilton.
