The Warriors scored an opening night win at the Red Bank Armory over RFH to spark a tremendous 15-3-1 season:

#9: Marlboro 4 Middletown North 4

Anthony Galante scored two goals as Marlboro scored four straight goals after trailing 2-0.  Middletown North answered with third-period goals by Kurt Kroper and Justin Skelly to earn the tie in an entertaining game at Middletown Ice World:

#8: Middletown South 4 Middletown North 4 – Mayors Cup

Nick Lioudakis scored the game-tying goal with 3:21 to go in the third period to give Middletown South a 4-4 tie with their archrival.   The Eagles earned the Mayor’s Cup thanks to their 3-2 win earlier in the regular season over the Lions. Watch the highlights of one of NJ’s best rivalry games on the ice:

#7: Middletown South 3 Middletown North 2

Deven Ralph had a pair of third-period goals to give Middletown South a season-opening win over their rival.  Watch the highlights of a spirited game at Middletown Ice World:

#6: Delbarton 4 Don Bosco Prep 2 – Non-Public State Championship

Hunter Macy’s goal early in the third period proved to be the game-winner as the Green Wave scored three unanswered goals to win a third straight state championship.  Watch the highlights and post-game reaction from the Rock:

#5: Saint John Vianney 5 CBA 2

In an outdoor showcase at Navesink Country Club, Saint John Vianney got a hat trick from John Gelatt to hand CBA its first loss to a Shore Conference team since 2014.  Watch the highlights of a signature win for the Lancers hockey program:

#4: Don Bosco 8 Hun School 1 – Citi Field

Mickey Burns had a six-point night (1 goal, 5 assists) and the duo of Tyler Sedlak and George Weiner had hat tricks as the Ironmen put on a dominating performance at the home of the New York Mets:

#3: Don Bosco Prep 2 Pope John 1 (OT) – Non-Public State Quarterfinals

It’s rare for a player on the losing team to grab the headlines, but that was the case in this state playoff battle.  Don Bosco had to overcome a 79 save performance from Pope John goalie Matt Schoer and battle for a 2-1 OT win in the NJSIAA Non-Public Qtr Finals despite out-shooting the Lions 81-16 on goal. TJ Schweighardt tied the game at 1 with just 0:30 remaining in regulation, and Tristan Frese completed the comeback with a game-winning goal with just 0:45 to play in OT.

#2: Don Bosco Prep 3 Delbarton 0

Mickey Burns, Michael Forgione and Tsubasa Konishi found the net as the Ironmen scored the first win in an eventual four-game showdown against the Green Wave:

#1: Delbarton 2 Don Bosco Prep 1 (OT) – Gordon Cup Finals

As the saying goes.. It’s tough to beat a team three times. Delbarton School proved that to be true as the Green Wave turned the tide on Don Bosco Prep and avenged two earlier season losses to the Ironmen. Andrew Bosland took a pass from Michael Balzarotti and sent home the game-winning goal for Delbarton in the sudden death overtime period at Codey Arena in West Orange. With one stroke, Bosland gave the Green Wave a 2-1 win, ended Don Bosco’s hopes for a perfect season, and brought the Gordon Cup back to Delbarton Schoo

Jersey Sports Zone teams up with New Jersey Devils to honor NJ HS Hockey

Jersey Sports Zone’s partnership with the New Jersey Devils gave us the chance to honor athletes from New Jersey high school hockey in a special way.  Our monthly goals of the month winners were honored during a Devils game that featured an NHL player watching the goals and posing for pictures.  We wrapped up the 2017-18 season with our JSZ Hockey Banquet held during the Devils home game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.  Watch all of our Devils coverage below!
