Watch Tuesday 10.12 JSZ Soccer Highlights

We’ve got two great games from New Jersey girls high school soccer thanks to our great partners. The OceanFirst Bank Game of the Week features Holmdel and Red Bank Catholic in a top-10 showdown from the Shore Conference plus we’ve got Hopewell Valley and Steinert girls battling in Mercer County

Holmdel 1 Red Bank Catholic 0 | Girls

Taylor Bielan’s goal in the 61st minute off a midfield feed from Izzy Dematos was the only goal of the game to give Holmdel the Shore Conference’s “A” Central division title. The Hornets (11-0-1) ranked #3 in the state made their case for the top seed in the upcoming Shore Conference Tournament along with current #1 ranked Freehold Township. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights and post-match reaction from Roggy Field in Holmdel:

Hopewell Valley 1 Steinert 1 | Girls

The much anticipated Colonial Valley Conference Girls Soccer matchup between Hopewell Valley (10-1-2) and Steinert (10-1-1) ended in a 1-1 tie. Mia Garafolo scored the game’s first goal with eight minutes left in the first half to give Steinert a 1-0 lead at the break. Freshman Charlotte Barnes answered back for Hopewell in the opening 12 minutes of the second with a goal to tie the game at 1-1. The match would stay knotted until the end of regulation and after 100 minutes a winner still could not be determined. The matchup is a possible preview for the upcoming Mercer County Tournament.
