The Hornets got a goal from Leo Nobrega in the 73rd minute to get Holmdel on the doorstep of a state championship, but Garfield scored two goals in the final 2:03 in a 27 second span to give Holmdel a heartbreaking end of the season. Both Garfield goals were on free kicks as Dave Herrera served it up to Wojciech Piwowaczyk who scored both goals on a header. Holmdel was the #9 seed in Central Jersey Group 2 falling just short of winning a state crown. Watch the highlights and post-match reaction here:

Mendham 4 Toms River South 0
Jared Beneducci scored two goals to help pace Mendham to a dominating victory over Toms River South. The Indians finish the season with a 21-5 record. Watch the highlights here:
