The NHL’s Winter Classic is set for January 2, 2023, but the pro’s aren’t the only ones playing outdoor hockey during the holiday season.

Summit and Gov. Livingston renewed their ice rivalry again on Friday morning when the Hilltoppers and Highlanders met in New Jersey’s “Winter Classic” outside in the elements at Beacon Hill Club in Summit.

The 45 minutes of hockey put forth by both teams was jam-packed with twists, turns and a whole lot of offense as the game ended in a 5-5 tie. Gov. Livingston forward Brady Silverman notched his third hat trick of the season while Paul Rubinshtyen tallied a pair of goals for Summit in the draw.
