The world of college football recruiting can be harsh sometimes, and Jaeden Gould can say he knows that all too well.

Gould, a four-star defensive back from Bergen Catholic, was committed to the University of Southern California. After the Trojans changed coaching staffs and brought in Lincoln Reilly to lead the program, Gould rescinded his committment.

That led to a two-week gauntlet of being recruited again and that search ended with Gould committing to the University of Nebraska on the eve of Early Signing Day.

Gould made switch from cornerback to safety for his senior year and ended the season with a career high four interceptions. He was a leader on a tenacious Crusaders team that went 12-0 season and won the Non-Public A State Championship.

The 6’2, 190 pound defensive standout is now Lincoln-bound and joins a Cornhusker team with former NJ stars like Mikai Gbayor (Irvington) and Rahmir Johnson (Bergen Catholic) on the roster.
