Erik Perez and the St. Peter’s Prep defense had one heck of a season opener in Week Zero. Perez snagged an interception in the second quarter and brought it to the house for a 31-yard pick six. That defensive touchdown helped the Marauders secure a 61-0 win over Paramus Catholic to begin the year 1-0.
Perez’s touchdown was put up as a nominee for the Week Zero Top Play belt and he won the fan poll by securing 15,724 votes (38.1 percent) in the voting process.
