It was a proud night for the New Jersey high school baseball community as Anthony Volpe won the American League Gold Glove at shortstop following his rookie season with the New York Yankees

It wasn’t that long ago that Anthony Volpe was making plays at shortstop at Delbarton.  Following his first full year with the New York Yankees, he’s recognized as one of the best gloves in the big leagues.  Volpe won the Gold Glove at shortstop for the American League, the first Yankees rookie to win the honor and the youngest-ever Gold Glover in the American League at shortstop.  Volpe also was the first 20 HR-20 SB rookie in Yankees history.
