Delbarton 10 Summit 9 | Kirst Cup Championship
Brandon Fodor’s second goal of the fourth quarter broke a 9-9 tie with :29 seconds left to give the Green Wave the Kirst Cup championship and the number one spot in New Jersey lacrosse. Summit, ranked #1 in the country for public schools, raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter highlighted by a pair of goals by Chris Davies. Delbarton, #16 in the overall national poll, was able to cut the deficit to 6-4 at halftime and Gus Cummings tied the game 7-7 late in the third quarter. Pierce Bolger had four goals, Chase Houser added three for the Green Wave while Summit was paced by Jack Freeman’s three goals and two assists.
