Three years ago, the New York Giants played an instrumental role in getting girls’ flag football off the ground in the Shore Conference.  Led by Middletown South football coach Steve Antonucci, the Shore has thrived with growing numbers and expanding teams.  Giants quarterback Daniel Jones and two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning came to Manasquan to help with a preseason clinic that had over 200 players run through drills ahead of the upcoming spring season.

Jones, who just signed a four-year $160 million dollar contract, answered questions from players along with Manning after working with players at different drill stations.  Girls flag football is not an official NJSIAA varsity sport, but the support from the NFL has seen teams throughout the state begin to field teams.  The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets have also supported flag football in South and North Jersey.
