Cranford came into single elimination play as the #13 seed out of the North but ended July as the undisputed top team in New Jersey with its third consecutive rout of a highly ranked state baseball power. The Cougars outscored Don Bosco Prep, Bergen Catholic and the Jaguars by 34-2. Cranford jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first and put the game away with a devastating eight-run second inning.
