CBA 4 Delbarton 4

The Green Wave and Colts have emerged as the two elite teams in New Jersey this winter, but their battle for the No. 1 ranking in New Jersey ended in a tie – albeit an exciting one.

CBA’s Michael Gravina delivered a game-tying goal with :36 seconds left in regulation with a 6-on-5 advantage when goalie Andrew Skorupka was pulled off the ice.

That late tally from the Colts finished off a crazy game from opening whistle to the closing one in Randolph. Max Pendy scored twice for Delbarton (12-1-1) and Christian Chouha also pumped in a pair of goals for CBA (13-1-2) in the draw.

Delbarton will seemingly hold onto the No. 1 state ranking thanks to a 4-1 win over CBA back on Jan. 4. Despite the tie, this likely won’t be the last time these two programs meet – it’s expected that the Green Wave and Colts will earn the top two seeds in the upcoming Gordon Cup and Non-Public state tournament.
