Every Sunday morning at Ocean Ice Palace, former Point Pleasant Boro hockey coach Alex DePalma has two sessions where special needs kids get on the ice and learn to play hockey. The success of the Brick Stars hockey team is evident every Super Bowl Sunday when they go outdoors to Avon Pond to face the USA Wounded Warriors in the club’s biggest fundraiser. A number of Shore Conference hockey teams showed their support including CBA, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Boro, Saint Rose, and Wall. The Brick Stars are set to travel to Chicago to compete in the International Disabled Games. JSZ was honored to be able to capture the inspiring images of the Brick Stars and US Wounded Warriors.
