SSZ”s 2015 Mister Hoop Zone made it official on Thursday morning as he signs a national letter of intent to play Division I basketball in the Ivy League

On Tuesday night, Brendan Barry went to his Twitter page to make his college choice and on Thursday he made it official.  Barry signed a national letter of intent to play for Dartmouth.  Despite a stellar junior season, Barry had no Division I offers heading into his senior campaign, but as he continued to dazzle with long range shooting and a complete game, schools began to show interest and offers.  Barry won Shore Sports Zone’s Mister Hoop Zone in 2015 helping RFH win the Shore Conference championship in his junior year.  He started his senior season with a broken bone in his left hand, but recovered quickly to become the Bulldogs all-time leading scorer.  He finished his high school career with 1812 points and 277 three pointers.

On Monday, Dartmouth hired former Northeastern associate head coach David McLaughlin as its new head men’s basketball coach.  The Big Green was 10-18 last season, finishing sixth in the eight team Ivy League.  Dartmouth has not won an Ivy League title since 1959.
