Jersey Sports Zone takes the road trip to Delaware for the Beast of the East, one of the top wrestling events in the country. Over 700 wrestlers from the East Coast came to the University of Delaware to compete in the 29th annual Beast of the East wrestling tournament, making it’s triumphant return after missing 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Blair Academy won five individual championships on the way to winning the overall team title. Delbarton was the runner-up, headlined by Tyler Vazquez getting a marquis win at 132 pounds. 152 pounds: Joe Sealey (Wyoming Seminary) defeats Andy Troczynski (Delbarton) 13-5


160 pounds: Jonathan Ley (Lake Highland Prep) defeats Simon Ruiz (Delbarton) 5-4


170 pounds: Daniel Wask (Blair Academy) defeats Daniel Williams (Lake Highland Prep) 21-7


182 pounds: Kingsley Menifee (Fauqueir) defeats Vincent Lee (Delbarton) 7-5 (OT)


220 pounds: TJ Stewart (Blair Academy) defeats Max Shulaw (St. Francis Desales) 10-5
