Kyle Elliot and Elijah Mitchell paced four Seraphs in double figures with 14 points and Mater Dei Prep used its depth and relentless defense to hand the Panthers their first loss of the season. Freshmen Bryan Antoine and Scottie Lewis scored 14 each for Ranney, who went on a 10-0 run late in the game to cut into the losing margin. Anthony Velazquez scored a driving layup with 15 seconds to go to put the Green Wave in front by two. Connor McLoone drew a foul with 1.9 seconds left, but missed his second free throw which wouldn’t have counted if it did go in due to a lane violation.
