The Shore Regional girls soccer team had an exciting 2017 as they powered through the playoffs and won their third straight Group I state title, but celebration was cut short 11 days later as beloved teammate Aleka Damiano, a 17-year-old West Long Branch resident, passed away after tragically falling ill. It hasn’t been an easy wound to mend, but her Blue Devils teammates have rallied to start the 2018 season and are honoring their play this season in her memory.
