Seton Hall Prep 14 St. Augustine Prep 9 | Boys | Non-Public Semifinal

Jack Merklinger had a hat trick and two assists highlighted by a long distance goal with 0.6 seconds left in the first half to lead nine different scorers on the way to knocking off the top ranked team in the latest state poll and earn a spot in the Non-Public state final against Delbarton.  Alex Ante scored with under two mintues to go in the second to put the Pirates up 7-5 and when a timeout was called with 3.6 seconds left in the half, Merklinger was able to beat the clock with a long distance bouncer to give Seton Hall Prep a three goal lead at the half.  The Pirates put the game away with a dominant third quarter increasing their lead to six goals.  Mason Raucci had four goals and two assists for the Hermits who lost for the first time against a New Jersey team.

Delbarton 10 Don Bosco Prep 4 | Boys | Non-Public Semifinal

No. 5/2-seed Delbarton will play for their first state title since 2023 after defeating No. 6/3-seed Don Bosco Prep 10-4 in Friday’s second Non-Public semifinal. Down 1-0 early, took the lead back in seconds after Notre Dame commit Kane Quenault won and scored off of two straight face-offs. They then led 8-2 at halftime as Brown commit Pierce Bolger netted all three of his goals on the afternoon in the first two quarters. Their defense stayed firm in the second half to clinch what was their second win over Bosco this season. Bolger was followed by Quenault, Cornell commit Christian Troczynski, and Johns Hopkins commit Brandon Fodor with two goals each.

The Green Wave will now face No. 3 Seton Hall Prep in Tuesday’s state final at Kean University.
