The top-ranked Lancers flexed their muscles and avenged a loss to the Griffins on this stage a season ago to bring home their second sectional title in three years. Lexie Csontos stepped up in a big way as she went 3-for-4 at the dish and collected a career-best five RBIs in the victory. Monmouth commit Madison McDougall delivered another dominant effort in the circle as she struck out 12 over seven strong innings and added a three-run home run for St. John Vianney (29-0). Mia Kelliher drove in the lone run of the day for defending champion Donovan Catholic (27-2). St. John Vianney will look to complete a perfect season when they take on Mount St. Dominic for the Non-Public “A” state championship on Wednesday at Ivy Hill Park.
