Ben Faigin pitched a complete game one-hitter with 12 strikeouts and the Falcons scored early and often to close out their season with a GMC title. Monroe scored two runs in the 1st, a sacrifice fly in the second then busted the game open with three runs in the third highlighted by a Kyle Rutan two-run double. Faigin, a Rutgers commit, struck out the side in the fourth and made two key defensive plays in the 5th and 6th before giving up a double in the 7th. He walked four and ended the game with his 12th strikeout. Monroe ends their season with a 15-14 record while Old Bridge (20-9) is still alive in Central Jersey Group 4. The Knights will take on Hightstown in the section semifinals.
