The NJ lacrosse state playoffs continued on Wednesday as JSZ brings you a trio of games from the opening round slate. Check back as the highlights are posted throughout the night!
Cherokee 16 Jackson Twp. 4 | South Jersey Group 4 First Round
The Chiefs wasted no time as they stormed out to an early seven-goal lead in a dominant effort in their playoff opener. UMBC commit Ryan Hoffman led the way with four goals and four assists in the victory. Matt McCarthy added four goals, including one while a man down for fourth-seeded Cherokee (12-7). Belmont Abbey commit Joe Muzzillo and Dominik Bylecki scored in the loss for thirteenth-seeded Jackson Township (8-11). Cherokee will host fifth-seeded Eastern in the sectional quarterfinals next Monday.

Allentown 17 Lacey 3 | South Jersey Group 2 First Round
Three different Redbirds recorded four-goal games in the opening round of the South Group 2 bracket. Virginia commit Brian McCaffery won every faceoff while McCaffery, Grant Henkin, and Corey Trathan each scored at least four goals. Fifth-seeded Allentown (13-7) handled business against twelfth-seeded Lacey (9-9) to advance to the program’s seventh consecutive sectional quarterfinal, where the Redbirds will face the winner of Delran and Wall.

Bridgewater-Raritan 21 Clifton 1 | North Jersey Group 4 First Round
N.J. No. 14/3-seed Bridgewater-Raritan boys lacrosse made a significant opening statement to begin their playoff run on Wednesday with a 21-1 victory over 14-seed Clifton in the North Group 4 first round. This marks their highest single-game goal total in four years! Six different Panthers scored multiple goals in the game: Rutgers commit Declan Kurdyla (hat trick), Air Force commit Jack Cifuentes, Will Childs, Jack Winne, Jon Gagliano, and Shane Higgins. The Panthers now face either 6-seed Hillsborough or 11-seed Montgomery in the regional quarterfinals on Saturday.
