When a team wins a conference tournament, you might expect that to be what they’re happiest about. Not this time. For Notre Dame (14-2), it was about beating its rivals for the first time in seven years. Allentown (15-4) had defeated the Irish in each of the previous 10 matchups, with Notre Dame’s last win over the Redbirds coming on May 20, 2019. Capri Valentino and Aubrey Davis led the way for the Irish. Valentino delivered a 10-point performance, while Davis recorded a first-quarter hat trick to score her 100th career goal. Notre Dame claimed its first county/conference title since 2016 as the Irish completed a sweep of the CVC lacrosse tournaments.
