The second-seeded Chiefs jumped out to a big lead but had to fight off a few charges from the Rebels to advance to its third sectional final in the last four years. Brielle Alaba had a game-high 11 points as the junior guard surpassed 1,000 career points in the victory. Bloomsburg commit Olivia Selverian also finished with a game-high 11 points to lead the way for Cherokee (19-8). Kiera McCown went for a team-high seven points and ten rebounds in the loss for third-seeded Howell (22-7). Cherokee will face top-seeded Lenape for the SJ Group 4 title on Saturday.
