St. Joe’s-Metuchen 1 South Brunswick 1 (Falcons win 4-3 in PK’s) | GMC Boys Championship

Troy Boucher made two saves in penalty kicks and Noah Charnecky delivered the clincher in the fifth round of PK’s to give the Falcons their first GMC title since 2010.  Mason Atkins converted a header off a corner kick with :09 seconds left in the first half to give St. Joe’s a 1-0 lead through 40 minutes.  Jason Keiser answered in the second half with a header of his own off a corner kick to tie the match and set the stage for the drama of penalty kicks.  St. Joe’s is 13-1-2 avenging its lone loss of the season.

Monroe 1 Old Bridge 0 | GMC Girls Championship

Coastal Carolina commit Sofia Gartner ripped a 27-yard shot with 1:22 remaining for a fantastic goal that gave the Falcons the GMC title for a second straight year.  Old Bridge keeper Jessica Lane had 14 saves to keep the Knights in the match but Gartner delivered the heroics for the 14-2-1 Falcons.
