Matt Kimak’s wrist shot from the right circle with 4:27 to go in the third period proved to be the game winner as the Panthers held off a third period comeback attempt by the Frozen Roses. Eric Dahl scored a hat trick with goals in each period. Dahl’s wrist shot gave Point Boro a 1-0 lead after one and he followed that goal with a blast from the point in the second period. Ty Buckley scored a pair of goals as seven different Lancers lit the lamp in a dominating effort in the first round of the Dowd Cup. SJV raced out to a 3-0 lead at the end of one period and added four goals in the third. Mike Mania scored his 49th goal of the season in a losing effort.
