The Manasquan High School Surf Team sponsored its annual Big Sea Day surf contest at Manasquan Inlet Beach. Cooper Fortney, an NSSA Interscholastic national champion in the longboard was one of the top competitors
The Manasquan High School surf team hosted its annual Big Sea Day at Manasquan Inlet Beach. Surfers from 5 to 55 were riding waves from early in the morning until the finals just before 6pm. The money raised from the event helps benefit the Warriors surfing team which won its first state championship last year and placed 12th nationally at the NSSA Interscholastic competition in California. The highlight of that trip was Cooper Fortney’s national championship in the longboard. SSZ talked with him and got to capture some great runs during his competition in the Big Sea Day:
