St. Peter’s Prep 3 Hudson Catholic 2 | Boys
Chasen Kirk’s last-minute goal was the spark the Marauders needed upend a longtime rival and stay undefeated on the young season. Kirk broke a 2-2 tie in the 79th minute as St. Peter’s Prep (6-0) took down Hudson Catholic (1-2) in a game loaded with twists and turns. With the win, Marauders head coach Josh Jantas broke the program’s all-time wins record with his 218th victory in his 16th season at the helm. Gianfranco Ponce scored both Hudson Catholic goals in the first half before St. Peter’s Prep battled back in during the second half.

South River 4 Spotswood 2 | Boys
South River (5-1) defeated GMC Blue Division rival Spotswood (3-2-2) 4-2 following a thee goal performance from senior Selvin Fugon. The Rams with two scores early in the first led 2-1 at halftime, Fugon finished the night with three goals for a hat trick.

Red Bank Catholic 4 Rumson-Fair Haven 1 | Girls
Iva Carton scored late in the first half and the Caseys added three more goals in the second half to score a fifth consecutive win to open the 2023 season. Paige Foye scored from a sharp angle early in the second half and Mya King found the net 10 minutes to make it a 3-0 game. Kate Hennen scored a tremendous upper 90 blast to get RFH on the board but the Caseys closed out an impressive win with a Kylie Gallagher goal.
