A top-ten showdown between West Orange and Seton Hall Prep takes centerstage as JSZ brings you four great matchups from Wednesday in high school soccer. Check back as the highlights are posted throughout the night!
West Orange 1 Seton Hall Prep 0 | Boys
No. 2 West Orange and No. 6 Seton Hall Prep were deadlocked at 0 for 76 minutes in their big-time clash on Wednesday. Then, Mountaineer senior midfielder Jatniel Vargas Espino let loose an incredible 25-yard, top shelf goal that proved to be the game-winner! It was Vargas Espino’s first goal of the season and certainly one to remember. This win brings WO to 4-1 on the year and hands Seton Hall Prep their first loss (5-1).
Despite the loss, Prep goalie Liam Collins who had a phenomenal game with a whopping 10 saves. West Orange’s Agustin Arrieta finished with three.

Howell 4 Red Bank Regional 1 | Boys
Juan Maria and Tommy Beurskens scored 22 seconds apart in the first half and Andrew Holmes added two more goals to give the Rebels a sixth straight win to start the season. Buerskens has nine goals this season with Holmes reaching the seven goal mark.

Pennington 7 Phelps (PA) 1 | Boys
It took just 52 seconds into the 2026 season for Pennington (1-0) to find the back of the net, and the Red Hawks never looked back. Alexandre Benamou scored the first goal and finished with two, while teammates Matthew Addai and Army commit Joey Riley also found the back of the net twice. Pennington opened its season in a big way as the program begins its quest for a fourth consecutive Prep State Championship.

St. Augustine 4 Hammonton 1 | Boys
The fifth-ranked Hermits showed no signs of a let down after a win against nationally-ranked Chaminade (NY) over the weekend by extending their CAL unbeaten streak to 50 matches on Wednesday. Frankie Brown bookended the scoring with a pair of goals to lead the way in the victory. Mike Coluzzi and John Lamanteer added goals for St. Augustine (3-1). Ryder Falcone scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season for Hammonton (5-1).
