Westfield 8 Scotch-Plains Fanwood 7 (10 innings) | Union County Tournament Quarterfinal
The Westfield-SPF rivalry now has another instant classic added to its long history. Dylan Berger’s walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning proved to be the difference in a winding, back-and-forth game. Westfield led 7-2 going into the 7th inning before back-to-back home runs tied the game and forced extra innings. The win was also No. 652 for longtime Westfield skipper Bob Brewster, who became Union County’s winningest coach with the victory.

Steinert 3 Hightstown 2 | CVC Semifinal
Braeden Nitti hit a triple and older brother Jordan Nitti drove him in with an RBI single to spark a four-hit two-run rally in the 5th inning to break a 1-1 tie and give Steinert a spot in the CVC title game. Steinert will host Hopewell Valley in the CVC championship game this Saturday at 11. HV upset #1 seed Allentown to earn a spot in the title game.
