Gloucester Catholic 10 St. Augustine 8 | Mid-Atlantic Baseball Challenge Quarterfinal

Brayden Moughan seized the moment in a top-five showdown in the opening contest of the Mid-Atlantic Baseball Challenge. The sophomore hit his first varsity home run, then belted a go-ahead three run double to finish with five RBIs in the victory. Rowan commit Jason Bogart knocked in a pair of runs for second-ranked Gloucester Catholic (6-2), which stayed unbeaten against in-state competition. Hank Biglin and Penn State commit Alex Weingartner each finished with 2 RBIs in the loss for St. Augustine (6-1). Gloucester Catholic advances to face Malvern Prep in the semifinals tomorrow at St. Augustine.

Ranney 9 Middletown South 2

Ricky Lopez launched a three run homer in the third inning and followed that with a 2-run double in the fourth to drive in Ranney’s first five runs.  The LSU commit has 3 HR’s and 12 RBI’s on the young season and reached base three times in the win.  Three Panthers relievers allowed just three hits but walked 10 batters.
