JSZ keeps the baseball highlights coming, as Wednesday’s slate featured a historic performance and more!

Mainland 3 Millville 0

Chase Petty was excellent in his first start of 2021. What did he do in his second start? Everything. The Florida commit threw a no-hitter, finished with 18 strikeouts, and hit a 2-run homer to lead the Mustangs past Millville. Dozens of MLB scouts were once again on hand to watch Petty’s masterful performance. The victory means the Stangs stay undefeated at (5-0). Nick Buonadonna struck out four in the loss for the Bolts (4-1).

JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the highlights and reaction from Petty:

Hun 6 St. Joseph (Metuchen) 0

After dropping their season opener, Hun (10-1) is officially on a 10 game win streak following a 6-0 win over St. Joe’s (Metuchen)(4-2). University of Kentucky commit Carson Applegate ended the evening with 0 earned runs and 11 strikeouts through five innings. Boston College bound Ryan DiMaggio would come in to close out the game in the sixth inning, DiMaggio had four strikeouts.

Colts Neck 2 Wall 1 (9 innings)

Ben Goldman sprinted from third base to beat the tag of Wall catcher Max Harrell on a wild pitch in the top of the 9th inning to give the Cougars a split in their 2 game series with their division rivals. Wall took a 1-0 lead on a double steal in the 6th and Colts Neck forced extras with an RBI ground out in the top of the 7th. Two close calls at home highlight a great Shore Conference baseball game. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the action from Wall:
