JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has full coverage coming soon!

Colonia 67 Montville 57 | Boys | Group 3 State Semifinal

It was a win nearly 60 years in the making, and it was well worth the wait for Colonia fans. Patriots boys basketball is state final-bound for the first time in program history after knocking off Montville 67-57 in Wednesday’s Group 3 semifinal!

The biggest key to the game for Colonia was how they started it. The Mustangs played them very even in the last three quarters, so the Patriots’ 12-3 run to start the game played a huge role in deciding things. Colonia was led by sophomore guard Jayce Rodriguez with 27 points, followed by senior guard Dylan Chiera with 20. Chris Ferrare was the Mustangs’ leading scorer with 20.

Colonia will now face Ocean City in the Group 3 final at Rutgers University on Sunday at 2pm.

JSZ’s Ryan Sudol has the highlights and reaction from Elizabeth:

Henry Njoga scored a team-high 15 points in the loss for Westampton Tech (23-9), which made its first appearance in a state semifinal.
