Jersey Sports Zone brings you two big showdowns from Wednesday night ice in New Jersey high school hockey. Morristown-Beard continues to be one of NJ’s hottest teams with a nine-game win streak plus we’ve got the much anticipated public school showdown between Summit and Randolph.

Morristown-Beard 5 Chatham 2

Nick Vantassell had two goals and an assist and the Crimson had a pair of shorthanded goals on the way to their ninth straight victory. Morristown-Beard scored two goals in the first and built a 4-0 lead in the second period. Vantassell scored the first goal of the game with a snipe from the right circle and closed out the scoring with another deadly shot for a shorthanded goal. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from Mennen Arena:

Summit 0 Randolph 0

Who doesn’t love a goalie battle?! An empty scoreboard certainly doesn’t tell the entire tale of this matchup between the top two public school teams in New Jersey. Summit net minder Nikita Pryymak looked outstanding and finished with 39 saves — Randolph’ Gavin Einfeldt stopped 17 more as both goalie’s notched shutouts.
