JSZ hits the pitch for another great day of action in high school soccer! St. Augustine and St. Joe’s Metuchen try to stay unbeaten on the boys side. In girls soccer, Wall looks to get back on track in a Shore Conference battle against St. John Vianney, plus Point Pleasant Boro and Notre Dame tangle in a great non-conference matchup. Check back as the highlights are posted throughout the night!

St. Joe’s (Met.) 1 Plainfield 0 | Boys

Carter Stetz’s impressive goal in the second half was the difference in a tightly-contested non-conference game Tuesday in Middlesex County. Stetz broke a nil-nil tie in the 60th minute with a sweet goal to help St. Joseph Met. (7-0) keep their perfect record intact. Plainfield (4-2) played tough defensively for 80 minutes and will be a team to watch in the upcoming Union County Tournament.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has the highlights and reaction from Metuchen:

St. Augustine 3 Vineland 0 | Boys

Gabe Beyer gave the fifth-ranked Hermits a jolt in the seventh minute with his first goal of the year, then scored again 42 seconds later to fuel St. Augustine (6-0) past the Fighting Clan. Mike Coluzzi netted his seventh goal of the season, while Matt Carr picked up a clean sheet in the victory. Rich Pepe racked up 13 saves in the loss for Vineland (0-5-3). St. Augustine now gets set for a top-five showdown with second-ranked Delbarton on Friday.

Wall 2 St. John Vianney 1 | Girls

Megan Farrell’s header off a feed from Mya Murano early in the second half was the game winner to give the Crimson Knights a road win and snap a two game win streak.  Nora Farrell got the scoring started for Wall (3-3) in the 33rd minute before SJV (4-3) tied the game thanks to Kennedy Wallace’s 7th goal of the season in the final minute of the first half.

Point Pleasant Boro 2 Notre Dame 1| Girls

The Panthers are on one of the most impressive runs in New Jersey soccer. With this win, reigning Group 2 State Champions Point Pleasant Boro (6-0) have now won 13 consecutive games dating back to last season. Fittingly, the first victory in that streak came against the same team they just defeated for No. 13 — Notre Dame (5-3). Montclair commit Elise Viggiano scored the go-ahead goal in the second half, marking her team-leading ninth goal of the season.

JSZ’s Tyler Mroz has the highlights + reaction from Lawrence Township:
