Steinert 4 Notre Dame 0

Two of Mercer County’s best met Tuesday afternoon in Lawrenceville for a Colonial Valley Conference Boys Soccer showdown. Notre Dame entered 2-0 while Steinert started 2019 off 1-1. Right from the start it was the Spartans in control thanks to an early goal from Dylan Kotch in the opening two minutes of play. Kotch would score again and thanks to an eight save day from Trevor Giordano, Steinert handed Notre Dame their first loss of the year in a 4-0 shutout. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

Monroe 4 East Brunswick 0

Tabi Essa scored a pair of goals as Monroe posted its fourth consecutive shutout to start the 2019 season. Christian Bernal and Jonah Dias also found the net for the Falcons. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from the GMC:

Pinelands 2 Lacey 0

The Wildcats earned a key early-season victory over the Lions in Shore Conference B South action. Johnny Hart scored both goals for Pinelands, including an incredible scissor kick off of a cross from Tony Aguilar. Gavin Harris earned the shutout in net for the Wildcats.
