It’s time to hand out sectional championships to some of the elite public school teams all across the state! Stay tuned throughout the night as the highlights come pouring in.

Summit 6 Chatham 3 | North Group 3 Sectional Final | Boys

The Hilltoppers’ suffocating defense shut out the Cougars for the final 34:46 of the game and stormed back in with six unanswered goals to capture the program’s seventh-straight sectional championship. Robbie Kievit made a season-high 14 saves, with seven coming in the fourth quarter, to help guide Summit (17-4) to the win. Chatham (15-6) was averaging 18.3 goals per game in the state playoffs but Kievit and Co. shut them down, holding the Cougars to a season-low goal output. Summit will face Shawnee in the Group 3 state final later this week.

The Bulldogs won the CVC Tournament earlier this season and have now won their first sectional title in program history. Washington & Lee commit Luke Caldwell continues to be one of the greatest athletes the school has ever seen. His four goals in this game brought his season total to 117, the most in New Jersey this season, and he now sits at 298 in his incredible career. Owen “Big O” Shehab had some huge saves and finished with 9 total. Eddie Brown added two goals for Sparta (12-9), while goalie Jake Alliegro finished the game with 17 saves. Hopewell Valley (21-2) will look to add their first state championship when they go to battle with Manasquan in the Group 2 State Final.
