High winds and temperatures into the 30’s didn’t stop some of the state’s best talent from showing up Tuesday. DePaul Catholic ace Jason Amalbert steals the show to beat St. Joe’s Mont., while Ranney battles past Middletown North on the Shore. Stay tuned as all the action rolls in!


DePaul Catholic 5 St. Joe’s (Mont.) 1 | Big North Conference

Star junior Jason Amalbert pitched five shutout innings while striking out a career-high 13 batters in a dazzling performance on the mound. Amalbert walked two and allowed no hits in the win for the Spartans (4-0). Amalbert also went 3-4 with three singles and a run from the leadoff spot. Derek Brand produced a 3-3 day with two RBI in the win over St. Joe’s Mont. (3-1).

Ranney 3 Middletown North 2 (9 Innings) | Shore Conference

Ricky Lopez delivered a 2-run RBI single with 2 outs and 2 strikes in the top of the 7th to force extra innings and Nate Fuller had a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning to give Ranney its first win of 2025.  Middletown North had a 2-0 lead and stranded 15 runners across nine full innings.  The Lions had the winning run at third in the eighth and runners on the corner in the ninth but Ranney reliever Noah Hynes was able to toss three scoreless innings to pick up the win.
