Penn State commit Alex Weingartner smashed a pair of home runs and finished with five RBIs to power the Hermits past the Pirates in the first of a two-game set in the CAL American Division. Ursinus commit Austin Gilson chipped in with a three RBI day at the dish, while Miami commit Ethan Suppi drove in a run for sixth-ranked St. Augustine (3-0). Ayden Chambers used a three-run home run to finish with four RBIs, while Rutgers commit JJ Watkins hit a solo home run for Cedar Creek (0-1).

After playing their first four games at the USA Baseball National High School Invitational in North Carolina, the reigning Non-Public “B” state champions returned home with a win. Bobby Kleinow pitched six innings, allowing just four hits and one run. The Rams had a balanced attack at the plate, with six different players recording an RBI. Gloucester Catholic (3-2) started its in-state season on a positive note with a win over Hun (2-1).
