Plainfield 64 Linden 61 | Boys
Micah Gordon had 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists highlighted by a step back three-pointer that beat the buzzer and gave the Cardinals a fifth straight win to open the season. Asante Jones tied the game 61-61 at the free throw line in the closing seconds setting the stage for Gordon to bring it up the floor and connect on the deep three-pointer. Rashawn Williams added 16 points and 13 rebounds for Plainfield. Linden was paced by Jayden Holman’s 17 points.

Atlantic City 58 Paul VI 53 | Boys
Dontaye Thompson scored 20 points to lead the Vikings to a statement win over the Eagles. Kenai Austin added 14 points in the victory for AC (4-0). Freshman and Pleasantville native Seth Dozier scored a game-high 23 points for PVI (1-2) in the loss.

Freehold Township 63 Holmdel 50 | Boys
John O’Neill matched his career high with 20 points and added eight rebounds and five steals to help the Patriots score a quality win heading into Christmas. Dakota Lasater had 13 points and nine steals for Freehold Township (2-1), who saw the duo of O’Neill and Lasater bust open a tight game with a strong run midway through the third. Jack Valillo led all scorers with 24 for Holmdel (1-1), who were missing a number of key players.
