The tour around the state continues through the first full week of the hockey season. We pay a visit to the electric Woodbridge Tri-op program, while Middletown South and Hopewell Valley capture wins. Stay tuned as the highlights roll in!
Middletown South 5 Catholic (Donovan/St. Rose/RBC) 2
Timmy Gorlenko broke a 2-2 tie with a highlight reel goal and the Eagles score three unanswered to pick up its second win of the season. Middletown South raced out to a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period on goals by Matt Hrehowsik and Joseph Santiago before Ben Meyer (St. Rose) scored two straight goals to tie the game. Gorlenko and Ryan Nicholson scored in the second and Owen Oglevee’s goal :15 into the third period closed out the scoring.

Woodbridge Twp. 6 Old Bridge 3
Star senior Ryan Lukko dominated on Tuesday afternoon and had a hand in all six goals for his squad in the win. Lukko tallied a hat trick and assisted on the other three goals to lead Woodbridge Twp. (2-0) to the victory. Ray Obolsky, Ryan Douglas and Patrick Rennie scored goals in the win. Anthony Fattorusso scored twice in the loss for Old Bridge (0-2).

Hopewell Valley 10 Lawrence 2
Hopewell Valley improved to 3-0 on the year following a dominant 10-2 win over Lawrence (1-1) The Bulldogs went ahead 3-0 after the first following goals from Alan Pan, Logan Camilleri and Matt Greenspoon. They would add five goals in the final period as Dylan Yasher and Edgar Alfaro both finished with a pair of scores. Hopewell has scored 21 goals in their first three games.
