The road to the state finals in public boys soccer came to an end on Tuesday with state semifinal action across the Garden State. Who punched their ticket to Franklin? Stay tuned as the highlights are posted throughout the night!


North Brunswick 1 Southern 0 | Boys | Group 4 State Semifinal

Ivan Pineda’s goal in the sixth minute proved to be the difference as the Raiders held off the defending champion Rams to reach their first state final since 1998. Alex Andino earned a clean sheet in net with six saves for North Brunswick (15-9). Kyle Sininsky had four saves in the loss for Southern (16-7-2), which played most of the second half down a man after a red card in the 46th minute. North Brunswick will face West Orange for the Group 4 state title on Saturday at Franklin High School.

West Orange 1 Scotch Plains-Fanwood 0 | Boys | Group 4 State Semifinal

Sophomores Maurice Williams and Aidan Ackermann connected on a perfectly timed corner kick in the 61st minute to give the Mountaineers a spot in Saturday’s Group 4 state championship.  Williams delivered a perfect service on the corner kick and Ackermann timed his leap perfectly on the near post and headed it home for the only goal of the match.  West Orange keeper Augustin Arietta made an outstanding save on a Darren Edelman shot from distance and the Mountaineers back line did their part in the clean sheet.  West Orange (22-2) will face North Brunswick this Saturday in the Group 4 state championship.

Ramapo 3 Cranford 0 | Group 3 State Semifinal

Jordan Hunt scored twice and Caden O’Connell added another as No. 15 Ramapo controlled all 80 minutes to earn a 3–0 win over Cranford and return to the Group 3 state final for the first time since 2016. The Raiders created chance after chance behind relentless pressure, while goalkeeper Julian Lora and the Ramapo back line secured another shutout in a dominant defensive effort. Ramapo (20–1) will face Middletown South on Saturday at Franklin High School for the Group 3 championship.

Robbinsville 4 Seneca 0 | Boys | Group 2 State Semifinal

After losing in the state semifinal a season ago, Coach Fisher’s squad came back with a vengeance, scoring three first-half goals en route to a 4–0 win over Seneca (16–6–1) that sent Robbinsville (17–7–1) to the Group 2 State Final. Nico Mathews launched a missile from 25 yards out for a spectacular goal and delivered a stunning behind-the-back assist to Noah Goldberg. Josh Sanchez assisted on the final two goals, both scored by Chris Lewis, to cap off a convincing win for the Ravens. Robbinsville will travel to Franklin High School on Saturday in search of their first state title since 2022 when they face Madison.
