Conference Tournament action continues across the state. JSZ brings you four more games from the soccer pitch on Tuesday!


Montclair 2 Montclair Kimberley Academy 0 | Essex County Tournament Semifinal | Boys

The Mounties are headed back to the Essex County Tournament final for the first time in five seasons. Top-seeded Montclair (12-1-3) scored in the first and second halves to pull away from fifth-seeded MKA (7-5-2) for the win. Derek Lacey and Maxwell Marmorek were the two Mounties who cashed in goals in the semifinal. This result comes after these teams played to a scoreless tie back on Sept. 18. Montclair will face No. 2 seed Seton Hall Prep in the county final on Saturday, scheduled for 2 p.m. at Millburn High School.

Monroe 6 Edison 0 | Girls | GMC Tournament Quarterfinal

Monroe (16-0-1) advances to the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament Semifinals with a 6-0 win over Edison (9-8). After going scoreless in the first forty minutes of play, the Falcons unleashed six goals in second half. Misan Uduaghan, Isabella Sigman, Shaine Magee and Jen Ward all finished with scores, Ward also had three assists while Lauren Pascal ended the night with two goals. Monroe advances to take on (5) Spotswood next.

East Brunswick 4 North Brunswick 1 | Girls | GMC Tournament Quarterfinal

Samara Stein scored a hat trick to lead the Bears (15-1-1) to the GMC semifinal.  The defending champs took a 1-0 lead on Stein’s first goal.  Emma Bergamotto scored early in the second half to make it 2-0 before Stein scored two straight to put the game away.  2nd seed East Brunswick will face #3 Old Bridge in the semifinals.

Egg Harbor Twp. 4 Our Lady of Mercy Academy 1 | Girls

The Eagles got rolling with three first half goals as they knocked off the Villagers for their fourth-straight victory. Gabriella Piantadosi scored her 11th goal of the season and added an assist in the win. Brielle VonColln, Arianna Nguyen, and DaMyah Burrous netted goals for EHT (11-3-2). Elizabeth Giamboy collected 16 saves and surpassed 100 saves for the season in the loss for OLMA (12-4).
