We’ve got a pair of hockey matchups from the Rock Ice Center in Dunellen. Bridgewater-Raritan and Toms River show why they are state title contenders as they play in an overtime thriller plus we put the spotlight on the Morristown-Beard girls hockey team. Watch all the action!
Bridgewater-Raritan 3 Toms River 2 (OT) | Boys
Sasha Abolensiky scored on a backhand after a rush along the left wing with just 32.2 seconds left in overtime to give the Panthers an overtime win and hand Toms River their first loss of the season. Both teams traded goals in the first and second period with the goalies locking down the third period to force overtime. Toms River’s David Gawalis and Bridgewater-Raritan freshman Justin Madison each had 27 saves setting the stage for overtime. Toms River is now 17-1-1 on the season and Bridgewater-Raritan is on a 14 game win streak with a 16-1 record.

Morristown-Beard 8 Oak Knoll 0 | Girls
Three Crimson players scored two goals each to pace Morristown-Beard to a sixth straight win. Julie Jasaitas and Emma Fuchs each had two goals and two assists while Sylie Sawalie had two goals and an assist. Antonia Galdi scored the first goal of the game and Reid Snyder had a fantastic rush to score in the third period.
