Payne Tech 61 East Orange 58 (OT) | Boys

A memorable night from junior forward Gerald Edwell helped lift the Lions to their eighth consecutive win. Edwell hit for his 1,000th career point in the second quarter and then he delivered the go-ahead bucket in overtime as Payne Tech (12-5) outlasted the Jaguars in a thriller. Edwell finished with 18 points and 16 rebounds in the win, while Robert Foster (15 points) and Jamir Westry (14 points) contributed along the way. East Orange (8-9) saw a four-game win streak come to a close in the loss – James Roberts had a 17-point, 13-rebound double-double in the overtime thriller.

Haddon Twp. 50 Gloucester 42 | Boys

The Hawks took control down the stretch to earn a key Colonial Conference victory. Axel Mohr and Nate Keating led a balanced attack with 13 points apiece for Haddon Township (11-6). Marcus Flagg scored 13 points for Gloucester (12-5) in the loss.

Lawrence 58 Hopewell Valley 48 | Boys

It was a battle of the 1st place teams in the CVC Conference, but it was Lawrence (15-4) who came away with the victory. Marvin McNeil led the way for the Cardinals with 17 points, while Noah Johansen added 14. Milan Desai finished with a game high 24 points, with 5 three pointers for Hopewell Valley (14-4).

Triton 37 Delsea 34 | Girls

Kaidan Henry sunk three clutch free throws in the final minute of regulation as the Mustangs knocked off the Crusaders for the first time since 2014. Henry, JSZ’s Week 3 Girls Basketball Game Ball winner, finished with nine points to help the ‘Stangs take sole possession of first place in the Tri-County Conference Liberty Division. Melannie Noel poured in a game-high 16 points in the victory for Triton (11-5). Ayress Maitland went for a team-high 11 points for Delsea (6-11).

St. John Vianney 58 Red Bank Regional 24 | Girls

Taylor Sofilkanich had 15 points and 8 rebounds and 10 different Lancers scored to complete a regular season sweep of the Bucs.  St. John Vianney improves to 15-4 on the season.
