Hightstown 63 Lawrence 50 | Boys

Hightstown defeated Lawrence 63-50 in an emotional season opener to the high school basketball season in Mercer County. Just days after the sudden passing of beloved Athletic Director Jim Peto, the Rams put on an impressive second half effort to walk away with a double digit victory. Sophomore Keenan Reiss finished with 11 points.

Egg Harbor Twp. 64 Holy Spirit 61 | Boys

The Eagles surrendered a 13-point lead in the first half, before coming back themselves in the fourth quarter to beat the Spartans. Isaiah Glenn and Carlos Lopez led the way for EHT with 18 points and 17 points respectively. Jahmir Smith pumped in a game-high 27 points for the Spartans, with Jamil Wilkins adding 16 in the loss.

St. Thomas Aquinas 90 JFK-Iselin 39 | Boys

The reigning GMC champions, St. Thomas Aquinas, are most certainly ready to roll in 2021. The Trojans are led by junior Power 5 recruit Jaquan Harris, who led all scorers with 23 points in the season-opener. Robert Morris commit Tristan Jeffries had 18 points, while Kyree Henry netted an additional 16 points.

Manchester Twp. 65 Jackson Liberty 44 | Girls

Destiny Adams started her senior season in style with 27 points, 16 rebounds and 7 blocked shots. Amyah Bray added 14 points and 7 steals and Myah Hourigan added 13 on 3 three-pointers. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the Shore Conference girls highlights from Ocean County:
